Carolyn M. (MacKay) Hastings

Carolyn M. (MacKay) Hastings, age 51, a resident of Tyngsborough, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 12, 2023.  She was the beloved wife of Kenneth R. Hastings and loving mother of Isabella E. Hastings. 

Born in Boston on November 15, 1971, she was the daughter of the late Willis and Anne Marie (Galeota) MacKay.  She was educated in the Tewksbury school system and was a graduate of Shawsheen Technical High School.  She then attended Southern New Hampshire University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in business.

Carolyn worked in the dental field for many years as office manager for Steve Demetriou, DMD and currently for Michael Szarek, DMD, in Dracut.

She enjoyed spending time at the beach and amusement parks and taking care of her family, but her true passion was being a mom to Bella.  She was Bella’s best friend and biggest fan at all her sporting events and was always there to support her.

Surviving her in addition to Ken and Bella are her mother-in-law, Helen Cooper; two brothers-in-law, Richard Hastings and David Hastings; her nieces and nephews, Michelle Harland and her children, Matthew and Zachary, Cheri Moores and her daughter Samantha, Shara Herbert and Joseph Hourihan; a great aunt, Adele Tarallo; an uncle, Robert F. Galeota; an aunt, Marion Mooney; her beloved French bull dogs, Kira and Nika; many cousins, dear friends and her dental family. She was pre-deceased by her father-in-law Richard C.F. Hastings and sister-in-law Janice Hourihan Balch.
