Carol A. (Hatfield) (Farrow) Jones

Carol A. (Hatfield) (Farrow) Jones, a resident of Hudson, NH and a former resident of Tyngsborough, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.  She was the beloved wife of Kenneth Jones with whom she celebrated 40 years of marriage last October.  

Born in Medford, MA on May 3, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Carlyle and Muriel (Neal) Hatfield.  She was educated in the Nashua School system and later received an Associate’s Degree from Fischer Junior College in Boston.

Carol was employed as a Real Estate Appraiser for many years with the Town of Tyngsborough and then the Bank of Boston, from where she retired as the Vice President of the Commercial Real Estate Appraisal Department. After retirement, she became a volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua.

Carol accomplished much in her career, but it all paled in comparison to her real success. Her children and grandchildren. Carol gave freely of her time and was truly loved by all. She accepted everyone and showed compassion and love for everyone she met.

Grammy hosted many legendary noisy sleepovers for her grandchildren, (much to the consternation of Grampa sometimes). She was like a second mother to many, and they spent countless hours in her company. Drop your kids off to go grocery shopping in the afternoon. Pick them up fed, bathed and in fresh clean pajamas for the ride home. She was kind, generous and thoughtful always. She did this, not because she had to, she did this because she wanted to. Her children and grandchildren are a direct reflection of this kindness and dedicaton. If a person’s success is measured by the happy memories of those you leave behind, then Grammy was truly a rock star. In her last hours, those same children and grandchildren surrounded her with love and laughter at her bed side. Grammy got her wings and the love of those around her carried her into the light. Exactly the sendoff she so richly deserved.

Carol was always active, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and family, spending time in Aruba, St Maartin and at the beach, reading, birdwatching, feeding her precious birds and going to the gym. She always made time for pampering sessions at the spa with her daughters and who can forget those always perfect nails and toes. Those who knew her knew her as elegant and always well put together. She had a real gift and aptitude for shopping (again much to the consternation of Grampa), and she taught her daughters and granddaughters the craft well.  

Surviving her in addition to her husband Ken, are six children, Charles “Chuck” Farrow and his wife Kristina Gines, Chester “Chet” Farrow and his partner Lilan Hamade, Carla Farrow and her fiancé Robert Shwartz, Carin Denommee and her husband Guy, Scott Jones and his wife Theresa and Daniel Jones and his wife Jennifer; nine grandchildren, Audrie Stefanini and her husband Mark, Samantha Bueno and her husband Nick, Amanda Farrow and fiancé Joey Marino, Tyler Denommee and his fiancée Julia O’Connor, Drew Denommee, Jordan Farrow, Davis Farrow, Audrey Rose Jones and Kaitlyn Schimp, two great grandchildren, Leo Stefanini and Vinny Stefanini; brothers Carlyle (Spike) and his wife Kathy Hatfield, Gary and his wife Debbie Hatfield; a sister Emma and her husband Randy Wallace; several nieces and nephews.  She was also the sister of the late Edna Miville and Beatrice Brougham. 

Relatives and friends are invited to gather, share stories and celebrate Carol’s life on Monday, June 24th 2024 from 2 to 4 PM at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Drive, Tyngsborough.
