Carol S. (Anstiss) Gotham-Harris, age 59, born and raised in Lowell, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2025, surrounded by family and friends after a tough battle with cancer. She was the widow of the late Sam Harris who passed away in 2022.
She was born in Lowell on December 26, 1965, and was a daughter of the late George and Jacqueline (Casserly) Anstiss. She was educated in the Lowell School system and was a college graduate with an Associates in Science in Business Administration from Middlesex Community College.
Carol lived in Lowell her whole life where she had an open door policy and gave a home to many people who needed a place to stay. She lived with her sons and her pets that she loved so dearly. She enjoyed many crafts including sewing, baking, and crocheting but there was nothing she enjoyed more than taking care of people and animals. She spent her days catching/feeding stray cats and giving them a second chance at life. You could always count on Carol to bring some sass to any situation. She wasn't afraid to live life the way she wanted to.
She is survived by her five children, Ryan Harris, Sean Harris, Eddie Gotham and his companion Ashley Lower, Amy Gotham and her spouse Staci Ellington and Sandra Gotham-Norton and her spouse Shane; five grandchildren, Kara, Idis, Dani, Arthur and Cecily. Her siblings and their spouses, Joseph and Michelle Anstiss, Catherine Archambault, Karen DeJesus, Claire and Denis Larose, Jerry Anstiss, William Anstiss, George Anstiss and Robert Anstiss. Her best friend of 47 years, Donna Allen Gagne, and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
