Armand E. Lagasse, age 85, a resident of Chelmsford, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Anita L. (Laganiere) Lagasse who passed in 2020.
Born in Lowell, MA on September 25, 1940, he was a son of the late Archille and Dorothy (Dufault) Lagasse. He was raised in Lowell and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School.
Armand was employed by M.I.T. Lincoln Lab for 36 years at the Millstone Hill Geospace facility in Westford, having retired as a senior computer operations supervisor.
Armand was a hardworking man who took great pride in caring for his home. He was an avid New England sports fan and enjoyed watching the Red Sox and the New England Patriots every season. For many years, Armand looked forward to summer vacations in Ogunquit, Maine, but nothing brought him more happiness than being surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for his deep devotion to his family and the love he shared with them.
He is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Christine and Raymond Wagner, and Donna and Richard Shipp; grandchildren, Kayla Lantry and her spouse Carlos, Megan Lange and her spouse Anthony, Anya Shipp, Derek Wagner, Leanne Korb and her spouse Daniel and Emily Greene and her spouse Benjamin; great-grandchildren, Theodore, Madisyn, Levi, Daniel, Gavin, Henry; a brother and sister-in-law, Archille and Meg Lagasse; three sisters, Lucille Delfino, Ruth Arsenault, and Rose Gatteney; his very close companion, Pauline Turcotte; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Leon, Robert, Raymond, and Andre Lagasse, Pauline Ducharme, Doris Proulx, Bernadette Leahey, Irene Ricard, Dorothy Sjoman and Jeannette Guillmette.
Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Drive, Tyngsborough on Wednesday, May 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to may make a donation in his memory to either the Heart and Vascular Center at Lowell General Hospital or to Hospice Services at Tufts Medicine Care at Home.
