Agnes (Dinneen) Grenier Obituary

Mrs. Agnes Catherine (Dinneen) Grenier, age 85, a resident of Lowell, died peacefully Sunday evening, April 9, 2023 at D’Youville Life & Wellness Community. She was surrounded by her loving family.

She was the beloved wife of the late Roger R. Grenier, Sr., with whom she celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Lowell, MA, on March 18, 1938, she was the daughter of Gerard M. and Agnes L. (Montminy) Dinneen. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School class of 1956, and St. Joseph’s Hospital School for medical record technicians. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Patrick's Church.

Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by Lowell General Hospital, where she worked as a medical record technician for 45 years.

She was an avid reader, always keeping a book with her. She followed the Boston Red Sox, and enjoyed attending Lowell Spinners games each year with her family. Her humor was a highlight to those who knew her, and her sass kept people on their toes. Most of all, she was incredibly proud of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving her are two daughters, Catherine Boucher and her husband, Normand of Lowell, and Marie Roy and her husband, Brian of Merrimac, MA; three sons, Roger R. Grenier, Jr. and his wife, Diana, of Scituate, MA, Arthur Grenier of Nashua, NH, and Michael Grenier and his husband, Julio Mazul of Salem, MA; 10 grandchildren, Lauren (Andrew) Hunt, Danielle Boucher, Deanna (Adam) Jimmo, Christine (Jake) Mulvey, Jennifer Roy, Sylvie Grenier, Mitchell Grenier, Luc Grenier, Zachary Grenier, and Ashly Grenier; 4 great-grandchildren, Genevieve and Matthew Hunt, Brooks Mulvey, and Tyler Jimmo. She is also survived by her brother and his wife, Paul and Ann Dinneen of Nashua, NH, and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at D’Youville Senior Care and Tufts Medicine Care at Home for their loving care.

Relatives and friends will be received at the Tyngsborough Funeral Home, 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough on Friday, April 14, from 4 until 8 p.m. Funeral Saturday morning with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at the Parish of Saint Rita, 158 Mammoth Rd., Lowell.
