CHELMSFORD – Mrs. Elizabeth E. (Fraser) Desharnais, age 83, a resident of Chelmsford and formerly of Westford and Maine, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at a local healthcare facility. She was the beloved wife of the late Armand G. Desharnais who died December 1, 2016.
Born in Cambridge, on September 12, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Chester L. and Marie L. (Tessier) Fraser.
Elizabeth was a homemaker to her husband and nine children and later owned and operated a bridal shop in Cambridge.
She was an excellent seamstress, she enjoyed reading, making stain glass, playing solitaire and she loved the ocean.
She is survived by three sons and three daughters in law, Armand G. and Tammy Desharnais of TX, Michael T. and Lisa Desharnais of Chelmsford and Richard D. and Joanne Desharnais of Lowell; six daughters and four sons in law, Jacqueline J. Russell and her husband Gregory of Westford, Yvonne I. Gervais and her husband Donald of Westford, Linda B. Russell of Chelmsford, Evelyn A. Desharnais of Westford, Theresa M. Adkins and her husband Gerald of Ashby and Monique E. Stanway and her husband Julian of Rindge, NH; twenty grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; a brother and sister in law, Robert and Jeannette Fraser of Washington, NH; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Wesley Fraser.
DESHARNAIS – died in Lowell on Jan. 2, 2018. Mrs. Elizabeth E. (Fraser) Desharnais, age 83, wife of the late Armand G. Desharnais. Relatives and friends may call at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Drive, Tyngsborough on Friday from 9 to 11 a. m. Her funeral service will take place immediately following at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
