…loving wife, mother and grandmother

TYNGSBOROUGH – Donna P. (Purtell) Ferguson, age 60, a lifelong resident of Tyngsborough, passed away on September 18, 2018 at Lowell General Hospital. She was the loving wife and soulmate of Gary J. Ferguson with whom she recently celebrated 44 years of marriage.

Donna was born in Lowell on December 11, 1957.

She was employed as an LPN at a few nursing facilities in the area.

Donna was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, going to Foxwoods, crocheting, playing bingo but most of all spending time with and spoiling her grandson Brock; he was and forever will be her PRIDE & JOY! She was the proudest Mammie, the bond and love they shared was so profound and absolutely precious. You would often find her enjoying lake life at “Brock’s Beach” that she had Pappy build just for him. If she wasn’t building sand castles and moats she would be catching sun fish with him. She treasured every second with him and made so many beautiful & loving memories. She was strong, brave, selfless, kind hearted and just the most generous woman we have ever known. A beautiful woman with the most beautiful heart to match who always and without hesitation put everyone else’s needs first.

Surviving her in addition to her husband are her children, Gary P. Ferguson and his spouse Cathy Vergato of Nashua, NH and Crystal M. Ferguson and her spouse Brian Johnson of Hudson, NH; two grandchildren, Anthony Ranieri and Brock Riley Johnson; her best friend Weeza; three brothers, Robert Purtell of NH, Brian Purtell of Billerica and David Purtell of Tewksbury; three sisters, Debbie Beaudry of Lowell, Diane Thorne of Tyngsborough and Patty Bellerose and her husband Kenny of Hudson, NH; also many nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late William Purtell. She was also predeceased by her grandmother Irene Purtell, her father in law Joseph E. Ferguson, mother in law Rita (Delisle) Ferguson, sister in law Diane (Ferguson) McGrade and her niece Shelly Ann McGrade.
