Robert J. Jean
Chef and Owner of PigTale Restaurant
It is with the greatest of sadness that I announce the passing of my husband, Rob J. Jean. Rob passed peacefully on March 16, at which time he was surrounded by his family and close friends.
Rob was best known to most as “Chef.” He was a self-taught chef whose talent went unsurpassed. His talent allowed for the opening of two of Boston’s top restaurants; Teatro and Sorellina, as well as L’Andana in Burlington.
Kind, passionate, generous and selflessness best describe him. He was giving and always so kind and would often open his heart, his home and his business to those in need of a second chance or simply some stability.
In 2015, Rob’s lifelong dream of opening his own restaurant became a reality. In June, PigTale in Nashua, NH will celebrate its third anniversary. It is here that Rob’s legacy will be carried on.
His soft smile and warm eyes will forever be remembered.
Not only was Rob a giving man in life, but also in death. A registered organ donor, he was able to save two lives.
Rob is survived by his wife Joelle, his children, Jordan, Sophia and Taylor; his parents, Joseph A. and Joanne F. (Fiedler) Jean; his siblings, Thomas R. Jean and his wife Kimberly, Joseph Jean and Alison Jean; also nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
He was also the grandson of the late Joseph A. and Rose D. Levesque and Lieutenant Richard B. Fiedler, LPD and Alice W. (Richards) Fiedler.
