DRACUT – Marcia L. (Goodrow) Mathson, age 77, a resident of Dracut and a former longtime resident of Winchester, died on Monday, September 25, 2017 at her home, with her loving family by her side.  She was the beloved wife of John P. Mathson with whom she would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on September 30th.

She was born in Winchester on December 8, 1939, the daughter of the late Howard and Margaret (Foley) Goodrow and was a graduate of Matignon High School in Cambridge.

Marcia was a  long time employee of Parker Lane Winn Oil Company in Winchester . Prior to retiring, Marcia was employed as a medical receptionist for the Korta Medical Group in Winchester.

She was an active communicant of St. Mary Magdalen in Tyngsborough where she nurtured her strong faith in God while attending weekly Saturday afternoon mass.

Marcia loved spending time with family and friends. She especially cherished Sunday family dinners, her favorite being corned beef and cabbage every St. Patrick’s Day. Her famous potato salad was the most requested dish at every summer cookout.   Marcia and John loved vacationing at Lake Winnipesaukee, a tradition that has lasted over 45 years, which included an annual mini-golf tournament. She looked forward to seeing which one of her children or grandchildren would take home the trophy. Marcia was also an avid reader and moviegoer.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Paul Mathson and his wife Leslie of Nashua, Margaret Mathson of Barrington, NH and John Mathson and his wife MaryBeth of Nashua.  Six grandchildren, Sarah DuBois and her husband Bill, Lydia, Mickey, Emma, Joshua and Ben Mathson of Nashua, NH; three great grandchildren, Liam, Arya and Lucas DuBois;  a sister in law, Janet Goodrow of NH;  and her dear friend, Judy Shaw of Medford, MA.

Marcia was predeceased by her loving daughter, Karen, who died on July 19, 1999 and her brother Howard Goodrow, who died on December 26, 2004.

Mathson.  Relatives and friends may call at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.   Funeral Friday morning with a funeral mass to be con-celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Parish, 95 Lakeview Ave., Tyngsborough.  Those wishing to attend the funeral mass are asked to meet at church.  Her committal service will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Team Walk, c/o Lowell General Hospital, 295 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854.  Funeral Directors Roland W.
