TYNGSBOROUGH - Mrs. Helen J. (Porter) Schwartz, age 77, a resident of Tyngsborough, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018, in Lowell after a brief illness.  She was the beloved wife of the late Richard S. Schwartz.

Born in Woburn, on May 7, 1940, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Helen M. (Murphy) Porter.

She was raised in Woburn and was a graduate of Winchester High School.

Helen married her husband in 1959 and resided in Billerica later moving to Dunstable  where she was a homemaker and raised her four children as well as assisted her husband with his construction business.

She was a longtime active member of the 4-H group having been involved with the Billerica and Dunstable Clubs.

Helen loved animals and enjoyed attending horse show events.  She also spent some time in Pennsylvania with the Amish community. She took great pride in seeing her grandchildren grow up.

She is survived by her children, Richard E. and Deborah Schwartz of Northwood, NH, Margaret Joncas of Pompano Beach, FL, Paul M. and Kelly Schwartz of Tyngsborough and Susan M. and David Robson of Tyngsborough; five grandchildren, David Robson, Craig Robson, Evan Robson, Matthew Silva and George Silva; two great grandchildren, Madison Silva and Joseph Silva; and her dog, Holly.

She was also the sister of the late Robert Porter.
